As a member of the Auburn University Rocket Association (AURA) payload team, I contributed to the design and development of a Barometric Avionics Enclosure (BAE) used to house and protect critical rocket avionics. The enclosure contains the altimeters, batteries, arming switches, and electronic components responsible for triggering the rocket’s recovery system at specific points during flight. The design uses a 3D-printed avionics bracket positioned between protective bulkheads, with charge cups mounted at each end to isolate the electronics from the ejection charges. Through this project, I gained hands-on experience with CAD design, 3D printing, mechanical integration, and the design considerations involved in building reliable avionics systems for high-powered rocketry.
